Polly (Stone) Barker

Cape Elizabeth, ME - Polly (Stone), 87, of Cape Elizabeth, ME and formerly of Montpelier, VT died on Sunday, December 17, 2016 in Scarborough, ME.  She was the wife of Donald E. Barker.

She was born in Saxtons River, VT on July 7, 1929 a daughter of the late George H. & Helen (Goodspeed) Stone.

During the 1950's, Polly was the town accountant for Westminste, MA. She worked from 1963 - 1990 as the bookkeeper for Pink Shutter and finally ended her working career at Vermont Life Magazine from 1990 - 2006.

She was a direct descendent of the Mayflower and also was a member of the Vermont Philharmonic Choir.  Polly also volunteered at local libraries throughout her life and greatly enjoyed crossword puzzles, antiquin, flea market selling and was a member of the Gormet Club.

Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters Heidi B. Maurais and her husband Victor of North Berwick, ME and Elizabeth B. Mongeon and her husband Jason of South Berwick, ME.  She also leaves five grandchildren, Adrian G. Maurais, Andrew E. Maurais, Azline P. J. Maurais, Dean Mongeon and Lauren M. Mongeon.  She was also the sister of the late Roger H. And Phillip Stone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. At First Congregational Church, 161 Black Point Road, Scarborough, ME.

Burial will be private in North Andover, MA.
