Westbrook, ME - Jason James "JJ” Meyer, 46, of Westbrook passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.
JJ was born in Portland, Maine to Victor E. Meyer and Margaret Iezzi-Meyer. He attended Portland schools and graduated from Deering High School. He also attended school in Northern California, where he lived for a period. He attended college at UNE in Biddeford for Marine Biology.
JJ was a fisherman early on then a roofer and a painter. He loved his dogs, Gracie and Brooklyn, and liked spending time on the river with them.
JJ loved life, his family and friends; especially his granddaughter Zaylah, fiancé Amanda, his kids Jason and Emily, and the dogs. Jay always wore a smile, had a heart of gold and would help out anyone in need. He was smart, fun, and had a good sense of humor. He is loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
JJ is predeceased by all of his grandparents, his father Victor, and his sister Heather Poulin. He's survived by his mother Margaret ("Mickey") and his brothers Dickie and Eric, his two children Jason J. Beaumier and Emily R. Meyer, his granddaughter Zaylah, his fiancée Amanda Davis and her two children. He's also survived by his nephews Michael, Eric, and MacGyver; as well as his great nephew Mason (whom he loved being an Uncle to,) and by his nieces Tia, Kayla, and Sarah. Jay is also survived by his family and many good friends.
A Service will be held on Sat. 9/23 @ 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff presiding and a Celebration of Life to follow from 2-7pm @ 36 Anthoine Rd. Windham. All are welcome. (There will be refreshments after the service.)
