South Portland, ME – James P. “Pete” Dionne, 57, of South Portland passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Biddeford, ME on January 6, 1961 a son of the late Joseph T.R. & Marjorie “Ruth” (Lombard) Dionne. He graduated from Plainfield High School.
Pete spent some time working in warehouses; however, spent most of his working career doing pipe fitting for concrete construction companies.
He was best known for his love of sports; as a youth Pete played football, baseball and basketball and served as a coach for football and baseball. As an adult, Pete played softball as often as he could, it was his favorite activity.
He is survived by his two daughters Jackie and her husband Jason of Old Orchard Beach and Jocelyn of Sanford, ME. He also leaves two granddaughters NaKeisha of Old Orchard Beach and Savannah of Lyman and four grandsons Lucas, Sebastian and Isiah all of Caribou and Omar of Sanford; as well as two sisters Cathy and Michelle of South Portland, three brothers Joe of Connecticut, John of Florida and Jean of Wells, four nephews, five nieces, six great nephews and three great nieces.
Pete did not want a traditional funeral service, but did want a family gathering and barbeque; which will be held at a date, time and location to be announced in the spring.
