Richard S. "Ricky" Davis

Freeport, ME – Richard S. “Ricky” Davis, 60, of Freeport, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his home.  He was the husband of June A. (Dennison) Davis.

He was born in Willimantic, CT on July 17, 1957, the son of Gladys (Scammon) Davis of Freeport and the late Roland Davis.  Shortly after his birth his family moved to Chicopee, MA.  Finally in 1968, he and his entire family moved to Freeport, ME, the place that Ricky would call home for the rest of his life.

In 1976, he started a small business doing auto body repair in his garage and over the course of many years and lots of hard work, he became the “go to” guy for anything car related.  His Father, Roland, joined him after his retirement and helped him run the business until his death in 1998; they were quite a team!

Ricky married the love of his life, June, in 1996 and they were happily married until the day he passed.

Besides his wife and mother, Ricky is survived by a sister, several brothers and his in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews and his beloved pets.  He was also the brother of the late Gerald Bailey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The First Parish Congregational Church, 461 Elmwood Road, Pownal, ME.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to:

Coastal Humane Society

190 Pleasant Street

"Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing, there is a field...I'll meet you there." Rest peacefully and painlessly my beautiful brother...
