Priscilla (Cox) Mattheson

Portland, ME - Priscilla (Cox) Mattheson, 101, died on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at her home.  She was the wife of the late George W Mattheson. 

She was born on September 24, 1916 in Edmunds, ME a daughter of the late Abisha & Margie (Preston) Cox.  Priscilla spent her whole childhood and most of her adult life in Edmunds. 

For many years, she and her husband George were the house parents at Opportunity Farms for Boys Home in New Gloucester.   

Priscilla is survived by her daughter-in-law Joanne Mattheson, with whom she lived,her sister in law Corrine Mattherson, her two granddaughters Stacy (Mattheson) Brichetto of Portland and Michelle Mattheson and Dexter Flemming of Raymond and her four great grandchildren Christopher and Nicholas Brichetto of Portland and Sofia and Dominic Flemming of Raymond.  She also leaves several nieces and nephews: Arlene Devlin Jensen of Florida, Mary Ellen Meeks of Texas, Sylvia Jacot and Bill of New Jersey, Beverly Tuttle of New Hampshire, Linda Nelson of Auburn, ME, Georgette Cushing of Pembroke ME, Jennifer Evrinaham, Melissa Costa both of Auburn ME, Jerry Laffey and Rebecca of Garland, ME, Gilbert Mattheson of Dennysville, ME and Peter Cox of Arizona. 

Priscilla is predeceased by; her parents, Abisha and Margie (Preston) Cox, Doris Cox Devlin, Marion Cox Laffey, Avis Cox Nelson, Leon Cox, Burton Cox, Ellery Cox 

A burial will be held in New Gloucester at a later date.
