Portland, ME - Barbara E Skillings,61, of Portland ME- Passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Pine Point Center in Scarborough.

Barbara was a very loving yet private person; her family was a very important part of her life. Even though she spent most of her time alone she always looked forward to the sister/niece days she spent with sisters Rose, Sylvia and Sandy and niece Crystal.

She enjoyed reading cookbooks as if they were the most interesting novels ever written.  She also enjoyed cooking many interesting meals from her cook book novels.  Barbara was an avid researcher and was willing to research almost anything especially if it involved fine jewelry; which was her greatest passion.

Barbara was pre-deceased by her Mother, Edna, her Father George, her brothers Frankie, Bobbie, Roy, Harry and Donald and her sister Loretta.  She is survived by her sisters Rose, Sylvia and Sandy and her brothers Pat, Al and Richie as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held in the Spring at Black Point Cemetery, Scarborough, ME.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to:
