John T. Fafoutas

 

Portland, ME – John Thomas Fafoutas, 90, of South Portland passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Mercy Hospital.

 

He was born on June 7, 1928 in Astoria, NY a son of the late Thomas and Anastasia (Kamelis) Fafoutas.  He was a graduate from Portland HIgh School as a member of the class of 1947.

 

John worked as a carpet installer, often working with his brother and son. He served in the Naval Reserves for twenty-two years, retiring as Store Keeper 2nd class.  He was very proud of his Greek heritage.

 

John was predeceased by his sister Georgia and his daughter Vicki Lynn.  He is survived by his brother Peter and his two sons Steve and Richard.  He will be greatly missed by his childhood friend Jim Nicholas. 

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Forest City Cemetery, Lincoln Street, South Portland.
