John Duncan Bryant

Yarmouth, ME - It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved brother, nephew, cousin and friend, John Duncan Bryant on July 28, 2018.  Duncan was the loving son of Donald E. Bryant and Ellen C. Richter.

Duncan was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 20, 1951.  He went to school at Acton Boxborough Regional and High School and later graduated from North Yarmouth Academy in Yarmouth, Maine.  Duncan excelled in athletics and was on the Honor Roll at North Yarmouth Academy.  He attended Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio.  He was employed as a technician for Wang Laboratories and was later employed by Griffin Greenhouse supplies as an Outside Sales Representative where he designed and installed commercial irrigation systems.  Duncan was an avid golfer and a wildly devoted Red Sox fan.

Duncan is survived by his sisters, Isabelle (Polkie) Ribando and Hannah Brown, his aunt and uncle, Caroline and Robert Knott, and cousins Al Campbell and his wife Kim, Heather Nicolau and her husband Alex, and Rob Campbell and his wife Christine.

A memorial service for Duncan is planned for November provided by Lindquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth, Maine.

I grew up with Duncan in Robbins Park in Acton and we developed a close and unforgettable friendship. He was a loyal and kind friend and a major influence in my early years. I think of him fondly and think of his decency, wonderful sense of humor, and sense of adventure. I am a better person for having known him. My thoughts are with all of your family and I Hope you will let me know about the Memorial service.

It is with great sadness that I heard of Duncan’s passing. We had many great adventures in our late teen.
Duncan as a young man was a fun loving, happy guy. I hope this spirit kept him well throughout his life. I will cherish these memories and many more.

Remembering the good times we had playing golf in Scotland, many cribbage games we played(I whooped ya) and being the pain in the neck patient after your surgeries. You will be missed.
