It is with great sadness that the family of William James Countey announces his passing after a brief illness, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the age of 63 years.
Having moved often while growing up, Bill planted roots in New Hampshire to raise a loving and active family, before living out the rest of his life quietly in Maine. He maintained a love of being with, and understanding all things in nature, hunting, tinkering, as well as a God-given gift with pencil, oils, and watercolor on canvas.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his Mother, Irene Countey, his children, Christina (Dan) Gorgone, William (Melissa) Countey, and Thomas (Stephanie) Countey, and their mother, Brenda (Cathy) Countey. Bill will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Trey, Aiden, Alexia, Charlie, and Camden and by his siblings, James (Linda) Countey, Kathleen Haddock, Dorothy (George) Gies, Patrick (Stacie) Countey, Debra Robinson, John Countey, Robert (Kathy) Countey, Edward (Michele) Countey, and Barbara Countey. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Robert Countey, and his brother, David Countey. Bill also leaves behind many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Bill’s desire was to return, as ash, to the New England earth he coveted and stewarded the best he could, wishing that no formal ceremony be held.
