I cannot thank Kevin Kilcline enough for his compassionate and efficient handling of my father and his services.
When my father was transferred from a hospital to hospice, one of the first questions I was asked was "Can you give us the name of the funeral home to contact when your father passes?"
I was at a loss, burial was to be in Massachusetts and I had no clue how to get my father from hospice to his final resting place. One of the hospice personnel suggested I call Kevin at Advantage and gave me the phone number. She told me that Kevin was great and could help me with everything. I called Kevin, met with him, and he started things in motion when my father died. Little did this woman from Hospice know that she was sending me a "savior". Kevin handled everything, and did it affordably. He knew I was working with a very limited insurance amount, and even with everything he did, we still managed to come in below that amount.
Kevin far exceeded any expectations I had and went above and beyond what I had experienced with other funeral homes when relatives died. Kevin kept me informed at every step of the process, and even managed to obtain discounts for me when he could, such as engravings. He took care of all required notifications of public and pension agencies. He also took care of scheduling newspaper obituaries.
Kevin contacted the cemetary for their rules, regulations, and fees. He ordered and delivered a special crypt to them, paid their charges, and made sure we were in compliance with all Maine and Massachusetts laws. He also scheduled the graveside service, a military honor guard, and retrieved my mother's ashes from a Massachusetts funeral home and joined her once again with my father for internment.
Hospice was right, Kevin did everything and did it amazingly efficient. He handled everything between 2 states, and even made deliveries and pickups from Massachusetts without any additional charges. I am not a religious person, but I am very sure that Kevin was sent my way by a "Divine Intervention". I am so very thankful for you Kevin.
